Advice of the Day

Deciding Which Customers to Listen to

Rahul Vohra, founder of Superhuman, highlights the need for selective customer feedback in product development. Given the volume of feedback startups receive, it's important to focus on feedback that will increase product appeal. Vohra advises concentrating on users who are almost sold on the product but have reservations. Identify the product's key benefit (e.g., speed for Superhuman) and focus on feedback from users deterred by specific issues. For example, Superhuman found that users valuing speed missed a mobile app, integrations, and read receipts. By addressing these, they converted these users into supporters. Vohra recommends balancing enhancing positives and resolving potential users' barriers, focusing on users who value the product's key benefit. - Link
